Pat McGrath Beauty Launch

WHY THE WORLD IS BEYOND EXCITED FOR GOLD 001 BY PAT MCGRATH LABS

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING PRODUCT MAY CAUSE ENHANCED FIERCENESS AND SICKENING RESULTS — or so says the packaging on makeup legend Pat McGrath's limited-edition pigment, Gold 001. The world-famous British makeup artist — known for her work with celebrities, top models, and most recently, her collaboration with the Covergirl Star Wars collection — is now releasing her own makeup collection, with Gold 001 at the forefront. This exciting news come with a slight downside: Only 1,000 of the limited-edition multi-purpose gold pigment are being produced. So beauty aficionados should be on high alert when Gold 001 becomes available for purchase at PatMcGrath.com on Oct. 29. We were first introduced to Gold001 glistening on the lips of models walking the runway at Prada’s Spring 2016 fashion show in Milan. A week later, in the midst of Paris Fashion Week, McGrath decided to share her gilded product with the public. She and a team of assistants gave pedestrians and onlookers makeovers using Gold 001.   Finally, after mixed rumors and heightened anticipation, McGrath announced in early October that she was working on a full makeup collection under Pat McGrath Labs, but that she would be releasing a limited quantity of Gold 001 early. The purchase of Gold 001 includes the gold pigment itself, a spatula, mixing liquid and a second-life container, but it doesn’t stop there. McGrath revealed on Instagram that the product arrives in a bag filled with shimmering, gold sequins for padding (basically, even the packaging is fabulous). With its intense color and a consistency that resembles crushed gold, Gold 001 pigment looks like an eyeshadow — but can be used for so much more than that! It can be used on eyes, brows, lashes, lips and skin. McGrath was all about creating a product without limits so much so that the package says things like; “USE WITHOUT CAUTION,” “Requires unrestrained play and a reckless attitude,” and “Keep within reach and proceed with impulse.” The pigment is so versatile you can paint it on your lips for a luxe and daring look, brush it on eyebrows for bronzed arches, or mix it with a moisturizer for shimmering skin! We can’t wait to get our hands on Gold 001 — and we're not alone. Here’s what the style icons and beauty gurus of Instagram and Twitter have to say about the highly-anticipated release of Gold 001.
